摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric ceramic composition which has excellent piezoelectric characteristics and is excellent in the electric resistance at high temperature even if it is fired in a reducing atmosphere at low temperature. <P>SOLUTION: The piezoelectric ceramic composition contains, as a main component, a composite oxide expressed by formula: (Pb<SB>a-b</SB>Me<SB>b</SB>)[(Zn<SB>1/3</SB>Nb<SB>2/3</SB>)<SB>x</SB>Ti<SB>y</SB>Zr<SB>z</SB>]O<SB>3</SB>(wherein, 0.96&le;a&le;1.03; 0&le;b&le;0.1; 0.05&le;x&le;0.15; 0.25&le;y&le;0.5; 0.35&le;z&le;0.6; x+y+z=1; and Me is at least one kind selected from Sr, Ca, and Ba), and further contains at least one kind of components expressed by CuO<SB>&alpha;</SB>(&alpha;&ge;0) in an amount of &le;3 mass% expressed in terms of CuO, a rare earth metal element in an amount of &le;0.8 mass% expressed in terms of oxide, Pb in an amount of &le;2 mass% expressed in terms of PbO, and Zn in an amount of &le;2 mass% expressed in terms of ZnO, each amount being based on the main component.
