PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera system which enables a controller side to quickly confirm an image photographed by a photographing device, and is therefore user-friendly, and to provide a controller. SOLUTION: The camera system 1 is provided with the photographing device 11 and the controller 16 connected to each other through a communication network, wherein the photographing device 11 performs through image photography in response to an instruction for the through image photography from the controller 16 and also performs normal image photography in response to an instruction for the normal image photography from the controller 16, the controller 16 displays through image data obtained by the through image photography at a display part 163 when sending the instruction for the through image photography to the photographing device 11, and displays the preobtained through image at the display part 163 when sending the instruction for the normal image photography to the photographing device 11, and a storage part 113 stores normal image data obtained by the normal image photography of the photographing device 11.
