METHOD FOR DETECTING SHORT CODE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting short codes to allow easy and quick detection of short codes in a transmitted wave including continuous wave (CW) background noise in a code division multiple access (CDMA) communication system. SOLUTION: The method relates to, in the CDMA communication system, receiving a received signal having a CW interference in addition to a transmitted signal including a plurality of short codes each of which is repetitively transmitted over a fixed period of time. The method includes usage of sequential probability ratio test (SPRT) for detecting the presence of the short codes at a plurality of phase points of the received signal by calculation of a likelihood value for each phase. A likelihood ratio is a comparison of probability distribution function (PDF) of the signal with background noise PDF.
