PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the performance of a software-based image processing system by use of the resources of a distributed computing environment. SOLUTION: In a distributed computing environment, a software-based image processing system is formed using one or a plurality of processing nodes, and the result of calculation at each image processing module, held at each of the processing nodes, is stored as the relation between an input value and an output value. The results stored make up a table where indexes are the input values. Table entries for which input signals are hit during actual operation are output so as to eliminate the necessity of image processing computations and provide increased performance.
