PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To be capable of performing position adjustment of a sensor head to a scale easily at short time without necessary specialized knowledge and experience. SOLUTION: The assembly and adjustment system of optical linear encoder includes a mounting bracket 2, which has a space housing a sensor head 10, supporting the sensor head 10 by five points consisting of two adjustable screws 24, a supporting point section 24, and two flat springs 24 within the space concerned and a personal computer 4, while downloading position detecting signals from the sensor head 10, displaying the signals concerned on a monitor screen with display format visible to adjustment operators, and implementing processing to display position adjustment situation by measuring amplitude of the signals concerned with display format visible to adjustment operator on monitor screen. Thereby, compared with conventional techniques adjusting and positioning, while observing wave form of the position detecting signal of the sensor head 10 using an oscilloscope and the like, the position adjustment can be performed easily and in a shorter time without requiring specialized knowledge and experience.
