PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jet device that can prevent a meniscus of ink on a nozzle from being broken even when a liquid in a cap body is sucked by opening the cap body to the atmospheric air in a cleaning process of a recording head in the liquid jet device wherein the recording head is disposed in an inclined manner. SOLUTION: A cleaning means comprises the cap body 21 for sealing a nozzle of a liquid jet head 5, an absorption material 22 provided in the cap body 21 to absorb a liquid, a liquid suction means communicating with the inner section of the cap body 21 from the bottom section 21A of the cap body 21 at the side of the lower section 21L of the cap body 21, and an atmosphere air opening means communicating with the inner section of the cap body 21 from the bottom section 21A of the cap body 21 at the side of the upper section 21U of the cap body 21. The absorption material 22 has a bubble collection section 22A for collecting bubbles generated in the cap body 21, the bubble collection section 22A being disposed to a portion not facing the nozzle.
