Process to manufacture an automotive gearbox synchromesh ring by application of teeth to top side of sheet metal strip and subsequent bending

In a process to manufacture an automotive gearbox synchromesh ring with a surrounding array of teeth, a suitable piece of flat sheet metal strip (1) is presented with two ends (2, 3). Teeth are fixed as required along the top face (4) of the strip, which is then bent into a ring and the two ends joined by e.g. welding.
