PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information display device capable of shortening a time required until information is displayed and improving the contrast of the displayed information. SOLUTION: On rewriting a cholesteric liquid crystal display panel 6, in the first place, the information is written according to a dynamic drive scheme (DDS) capable of high speed drive of cholesteric liquid crystal. Therefore, the time required until the information is displayed on the cholesteric liquid crystal display panel 6 can be shortened. Subsequently, while the written information is read by a user after the completion of writing of the information with the DDS, the information is overwritten according to the conventional driving method which has a small number of driving steps and permits easy control although the driving speed is slower than that in the DDS. As the result, the contrast of the displayed information is improved, abnormal display due to the DDS accompanying the deviation between a liquid crystal temperature and a measurement temperature is erased and a correct display result can be obtained.
