PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide more detailed congestion information to a driver by collecting vehicle information from another vehicle in the same congestion, when involved in the congestion. SOLUTION: In this navigation device, congestion information of a vehicle lined-up on the same lane is guided. The navigation device determines existence of a communication start instruction, and in some cases, outputs an information request signal to an external device of another vehicle just in the front, to thereby collect location information of the external device, and calculates the interval to the external device based on the location information and detection results by a present position detection means, and controls a guide output means based on calculation results. In this case, when the calculated interval is below a prescribed interval, it is determined that the front of own vehicle is congested, and then a congestion information transmission instruction signal is output to the external device of another vehicle just in the front, and congestion information is guided by controlling a guide output means based on the congestion information input from the external device of another vehicle just in the front.
