PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extension which can easily be mounted and can give an excellent sense of mounting, and to provide a method for mounting the same. SOLUTION: This extension comprises a hair bundle 1 bundled in a state that one end of the bundle is arranged, and a resin member 2 fused on one side of the fiber bundle 1 to arrange the fiber bundle. The resin member 2 can be fused with the hair, is composed of a polyamide resin from which the hair bundle 1 can be detached by applying a solvent to the fused portion, when the resin member 2 is fused with the hair, has a cylindrical shape enabling the insertion of a plurality of hairs thereinto, and has a notch 2a or a crease in the axial direction.
