PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the gas barrier performance of a diamond-like carbon thin film and to suppress coloring in the visible light of the diamond-like carbon thin film by imparting a structure dense on an atomic level to the thin film, and to impart high gas barrier properties to plastic moldings such as a plastic film and a plastic bottle by forming the thin film on the surface of each molding. SOLUTION: The diamond-like carbon thin film has a composition in which an ionic bonding material is incorporated into diamond-like carbon, and has as the principal phase, a phase formed of the diamond-like carbon and ionic bonding material.
