PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two agent type hair dye composition which is based on a direct dye, has excellent dyeing characteristics, can clearly dye hairs without fading a color over a long period, and simultaneously has a hair-bleaching power, and to provide a method for dyeing hair therewith. SOLUTION: This two agent type hair dye composition comprises the first agent comprising a dissociable direct dye represented by the general formula (1) (R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each H, a 1 to 5C alkyl, an acylamino, an alkylsulfonylamino or an electron-attracting group; B is a heterocyclic group having a structure such as a pyrazolotriazole structure, an imidazoloazole structure, or a pyrroloazole) or its salt and an alkali agent, and the second agent comprising an oxidant, wherein the first agent and the second agent are mixed, when used.
