PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-efficiency and high-intensity projection type display device. SOLUTION: A light source 4R that emits red light of the three primary colors, a light source 4G that emits green light of the three primary colors, and a light source 4B that emits blue light of the three primary colors are provided separately. The light source 4R and a rod integrator 5R, the light source 4G and a rod integrator 5G, and the light source 4B and a rod integrator 5B are attached closely respectively.
