PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle capable of surely discharging refrigerant of an air conditioner out of a cabin in a collision accident of the vehicle. SOLUTION: The air conditioner for a vehicle is provided with a function for restricting discharge of the refrigerant of the air conditioner into the cabin in a collision accident of the vehicle, and provided with breaking mechanisms 13a and 13b for breaking a refrigerant circulation tube 4 of the air conditioner outside the cabin by using the backward movement of vehicle front parts 10 and 12 due to deformation of the vehicle front parts 10 and 12 in the collision accident of the vehicle.
