PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus and method for preventing a deterioration in printing quality caused by temperature difference between print head dies. SOLUTION: According to an example of the present invention, the printing apparatus and method is provided for controlling a fluctuation in temperature between print head dies in a printer having a plurality of print head dies, wherein a change in an image intensity caused by a fluctuation in temperature between print head dies is reduced by decreasing the fluctuation in temperature.
