NEW FRAME ASSEMBLIES FOR SECURITY SCREENS

An alternative type of frame assembly for security screens comprising frame portions forming a recess, a gripping means locatable within the recess and having an opening and gripping faces for gripping a generally planar member within the opening, an urging means for urging the gripping means to grip the generally planar member and a retaining means for retaining the gripping means in the recess and wherein at least one of the gripping faces comprises a deformable material which contacts the generally planar member and provides a resistive force to prevent removal of the generally planar member when the urging means urges the gripping means to grip the generally planar member. It is preferred that the resistive force is a result of the high coefficient of friction characterising the deformable material.
