Radial expansion of a tubular patch to repair a tubular assembly

An expansion system 4200 is positioned within an expandable tubular assembly that includes first and second tubular members 4208,4210 coupled end to end and positioned and supported within a wellbore 4212. An expandable tubular patch 4206 is positioned over radial passages 4212 within the second tubular member 4210 and a hydroforming expansion device 4202 coupled to a support 4204 is operated to pressurise the interior of the tubular patch 4206 to radially expand and plastically deform it into contact with the interior surface of the second tubular member. The hydroforming expansion device 4202 is then disengaged from the tubular patch 4206 and removed from the wellbore 4212.
