An anti-fogging device has a substantially transparent or optically clear plastic layer 13 with a heater element 4 formed of etched metallic foil bonded to it. The device has an adhesive element 2 disposed at the periphery of the device for sticking to a viewing member 1 such as a motorcycle helmet visor, surgical mask or rear windscreen for a convertible car, to leave a gap between the heater element and the viewing member. A further plastics sheet 3 may be added to protect the heating element, the laminate being bonded together by adhesive layers 5,15. The adhesive element may be a cellular foam material may carry a release sheet and is firmed as a cut blank and attached to the laminate circumscribing the resistance element. The combined laminate and blank are then die-cut to form the outer shape of the device. The resistive element may take the form of a bonded wire or printed construction. |
