Method and arrangement for vehicle-internal determination of the distance covered by a vehicle

The method involves driving a vehicle by an internal combustion engine (2), and determining acceleration values by three-dimensional acceleration sensors (3), where the values are calculated using signal-integration of a path. Piston movements of the engine are determined by the sensors in addition to movements of vehicles. The engine-speed is determined from high-frequency signals according to the piston movements. The vehicle-speed is determined by number of starts or gear-characteristics and is calculated by the integration of the path. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for vehicle interior-determination of a vehicle.
