<p>The gearcase unit (1) is intended for the most various uses in connection with support structures and in a compact configuration; advantageously the gearcase unit includes two mounting surfaces, a lower (3) and an upper (12) mounting surfaces, being located at different distances from the axes of the drive and driven gearcase shafts. A further front mounting surface (6) may be provided at a flange of the gearcase casing which has through holes (11) and recesses (N).
