Tazobactam-piperacillin lyophilisate

Lyophilizate (I) comprises tazobactam and piperacillin or its salts, where the lyophilizate has a specific extrusion volume of greater than 200 mm3>/g. Independent claims are included for: (1) a process for the preparation of (I) comprising freeze-drying of an aqueous solution of tazobactam and piperacillin or its salts, where the initial concentration of the solution at the beginning of the freeze-drying is less than 100 mg/ml, based on the total amount of the two free active substances; and (2) a drug comprising the lyophilizate. ACTIVITY : Antibacterial. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Beta-lactamase inhibitor.
