A method and a system identify which one of a plurality of broadcast programs is tuned by a monitored receiver. The monitored signal corresponding to the broadcast program tuned by the monitored receiver is determined. A reference signal corresponding to a reference broadcast program tuned by a reference receiver from the plurality of broadcast programs is also determined. The monitored signal and the reference signal are compared and, in response to a match, a program identifier corresponding to the reference broadcast program is stored with a timestamp. |
