The present invention is directed to a method for defining an antetorsion angle ³ of a human femur, said antetorsion angle ³ being defined by two angles ± and ² which can be determined by means of two images of the human femur, by taking the two images such that a co-ordinate system can be assembled, such that an equation can be used to calculate the antetorsion angle ³, wherein said equation reads as follows: tan ³ = tan ± / (cos ² · cos ³).
