The invention relates to a bottle or container comprising a receptacle for collecting the sediment produced in wine or similar drinks. According to the invention, at least one notch (2) is made in the side face of the bottle or container (1) such as to define at least one receptacle or enclosure for collecting the sediment or residue produced by the drink contained in the bottle or container. The surfaces of the notches which face the mouth of the bottle or container are slightly curved in order to facilitate sedimentation and the collection of the sediment or residue from the drink, while the opposing surfaces of the notches which face the base of the container are shaped such as to prevent such sediment or residue from being released.
