<p>It is possible to increase the efficiency of a pixel circuit having a threshold voltage correction function and simplify the pixel circuit. A sampling transistor (Tr1) is electrically connected in response to a control signal supplied from a scan line (WS) during a horizontal scan period and samples a video signal supplied from a signal line (SL) to a pixel capacitor (Cs). The pixel capacitor (Cs) applies input voltage (Vgs) to the gate (G) of a drive transistor (Trd) in response to the sampled video signal. The drive transistor (Trd) supplies an output current in accordance with the input voltage (Vgs) to a light emitting element (EL). The output current has dependency on the threshold voltage (Vth) of the drive transistor (Trd). In order to eliminate the dependency of the output current on the threshold voltage (Vth), correction means (Tr3, Tr4) are provided operating during a part of the horizontal scan period, detecting the threshold voltage (Vth) of the drive transistor (Trd), and writing it in the pixel capacitor (Cs).</p> |
