SUBSTANCE: invention relates to new method of synthesis of 11-ketosteroid derivatives of the general formula (I) <EMI ID=0.287 HE=27 WI=45 TI=CHI> where: R - H, C<SB>1</SB>-C<SB>8</SB>-acyl, R - CH<SB>3</SB>, CH<SB>2</SB>OR ; R - H, -C<SB>1</SB>-C<SB>8</SB>-acyl and 3-oxo-group is protected as ethylenedithioketal. Compound of the formula (II) <EMI ID=0.288 HE=27 WI=45 TI=CHI> is converted to halogenhydrin of the formula (III) <EMI ID=0.289 HE=27 WI=45 TI=CHI> in the presence of alcohol and obtained product is treated with acid.
