<p>The present invention provides a wet paper web transfer belt (10) comprising a substrate (30), a wet paper side layer (20) and a machine side layer (23). The wet paper side layer (20) comprises a wet paper contact side vat layer (21) formed of a hydrophilic fiber (41) and a substrate side vat layer (22) free from a hydrophilic fiber (41). A polymeric elastomer (50) is impregnated into at least the wet paper contact side vat layer (21), and at least a part of the hydrophilic fiber (41) is exposed on the surface of the wet paper contact side vat layer (21). The water in the wet paper is stored in the wet paper contact side vat layer (21) formed of a hydrophilic fiber (41), and the amount of water transferred to the substrate side vat layer (22) is so small that the dimensional change of the belt can be reduced. Further, since the water in the wet paper is held in the hydrophilic fiber (21) exposed on the surface of the wet paper side layer (20), the function of transferring the wet paper applied to the belt and the function of smoothly separating the wet paper from the belt when the wet paper is transferred to the next step can be simultaneously realized.</p> |
