The method involves temporally indexing a multimedia data stream on a determined temporal base, acquiring the temporally indexed multimedia data stream, and detecting intervening events during acquisition of the temporally indexed multimedia data stream. The detected events are temporally correlated with the temporally indexed multimedia data stream, to deliver a list of the detected events based on the multimedia data stream. An independent claim is also included for a multimedia data stream indexing system.
