<p>The invention relates to a closure device for public telephone boxes, which is disposed on a support (3) that is solidly connected to the body (1) of the box. According to the invention, an electric motor reducer (4) is mounted to the support and acts on a nut (7) which actuates a rod (9) which in turn imparts a 90° rotational movement to a pair of opposing shafts (14-14') having a free chamfered end. The aforementioned shafts can be used to lock respective hooks (15-15') which are solidly connected to the door (2) which is joined to the body (1) by means of concealed internal hinges. In this way, the electric motor (4) can be actuated using a remote control. In addition, the position of the hinge and closure elements cannot be seen from outside the box and the door (2) has a completely smooth transparent surface which makes very difficult any attempt to enter the box forcibly.</p> |
