An auxiliary cylinder (13) is attached to a cutting knife cylinder. The cutting knife of the cutting knife cylinder is engaged in a groove (18) of the auxiliary cylinder for a pre-transverse cutting of a print substrate web (16) in the area of the auxiliary cylinder. A cutting knife partially transverses between the cutting knife cylinder and the web.
