When data are sequentially read and reproduced from a data storing means in which a plurality of data are stored, a data, which is suitable for the current mood or situation of a user, can be selected and reproduced without any need of complicated operations. A data reproducing apparatus, which sequentially reads and reproduces data from a data storing part (104) in which a plurality of data are stored, comprises a reproduction history storing part (202) that stores a reproduction history including information for identifying data at least a part of which has been reproduced; an identifying information reading part (204) that reads the information for identifying a part or all of the data from the reproduction history storing part (202); a reproduction characteristic information generating part (208) that generates, based on the characteristic information of data identified by use of the read identifying information, the reproduction characteristic information related to a predetermined situation; and a reproduction sequence deciding part (212) that decides a data reproduction sequence based on both the reproduction characteristic information and the characteristic information of a part or all of the data stored in the data storing part (104).
