The cleaning mechanism consists of a windscreen wiper, which carries a blade (14), which is linked, by a roughly central section (10), around a transverse axis (A1), to the free end (16) of the wiper arm (18). This free end of the arm carries two longitudinal cheeks (20) and between these cheeks a connector (22) is mounted, so as to be able to rotate around the axis (A1). The connector consists of a main body (24), which is designed to sit astride the central section of the blade, and which carries a bolt (42), which is mounted so as to slide between a mounting position and a locked position, in which it fixes the connector rigidly to the blade. The blade and the main body of the connector are designed with complementary surfaces (52,54), which allow the blade to match the connector.
