<p>Within tyre manufacturing, a reinforcing structure (8) of the tyre (2), such as the zero-degree layer (8) of the belt structure (6), is made by an apparatus (25) comprising devices (35, 37) for guiding a continuous elongated element (9) towards a forming drum (22), devices (42) for applying the elongated element against a laying surface (22a) of the drum, and a cutting unit (45) to cut off the continuous elongated element (9) when application has been completed. Once the cutting operation has been carried out, the free end of the continuous elongated element (9) is set to a grip position downstream of the cutting unit (45), through a reciprocating slider and a threading element blocking the continuous elongated element (9) with respect to the slider (58) when the latter moves towards the forming drum (22).</p> |
