FIELD: pipe line transport; restoration of mechanical strength and tightness of pipe lines without discontinuation of their operation. SUBSTANCE: in locating the leaky area of pipe line and applying seal which is strengthened after reducing the pressure in pipe line, defective area is localized till forming of crack; pipe line is strengthened before sealing the defect. Device is additionally provided with second seal; both seals are made in form of spiral strengthening members wound on pipe line on either side from crack, two yokes (each yoke is placed between pipe line and one seal), plunger introduced between pipe line and projections of yoke, elastic secured to plunger on one side and contacting with area of crack on other side and studs whose lateral surfaces are connected with projections of yoke through threaded joints; first ends are connected with plunger and second ends have faceted surface for wrench.
