In the production of components of plastics (A) using an electrotype in a housing containing inert gas, heated with oil from below to the m.pt. of (A), after which the housing is tilted and the oil is removed (to cool the electrotype and for recycling), the inert gas is introduced into the housing under excess pressure and the oil is sucked from the housing into a storage vessel containing inert gas under reduced pressure.. Production of components of plastics (A) involves using an electrotype located in a housing containing inert gas (specifically nitrogen) and heated with oil from the reverse side to the m.pt. of (A), after which the housing is tilted and the oil is collected below the electrotype and removed from the housing (to allow cooling of the electrotype). The novel feature is that the inert gas is introduced into the housing under excess pressure and the oil is sucked from the housing into a first storage vessel containing inert gas, utililizing reduced pressure present in the storage vessel. The oil is then reheated and recycled to the housing for the next production cycle. An independent claim is included for apparatus for carrying out the process, consisting of a rotatably mounted housing (1) containing: an electrotype (2), accessible from the exterior for coating with (A) and heatable from the reverse side with hot oil; inlet (3) and outlet (4) connections for the oil; and an inert gas inlet connection (9). The novel features are that: (a) a vacuum vessel (5) for transfer of the oil is connected at the oil outlet; (b) a line (6) is connected at the top of the vacuum vessel for transfer of inert gas, sucked into the vacuum vessel, to a nitrogen container (7), in which elevated pressure is obtainable; and (c) the nitrogen container is connectable to the housing via a line (8).
