The slide clasp fastener is a continuous chain (1) and it is fed to a first working post (2). The back of the rows of couplings are held in a groove and are compressed and cut by a pair of blades and removed by another pair of blades. The chain is then turned over and passed to a second post (3). The coupling elements are compressed and then cut by a pair of blades. They are removed from the chain and retained by a compression organ and a lower gripping organ that can be moved vertically.
