<p>Method for determining an organic or inorganic component of a sample containing a suspension and a solid comprises placing the sample into a treatment chamber, removing the suspension medium by suctioning off/evaporating, determining the weight of the dry sample in the chamber, feeding heat to the sample until the sample is reduced to ashes and determining the sample residue in the chamber. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining an organic or inorganic component of a sample containing a suspension and a solid comprising a sample holder (20), a filtering unit (21) fixed to the holder, a unit (23) for producing a differential pressure, a heat energy source (30) for feeding heat to the sample, a temperature measuring unit (25, 26) for measuring the temperature of the sample and a balance (24) for weighing the sample. Preferred Features: The weight of the sample in the chamber is determined before the suspension medium is removed. Heat and oxygen is added to the ash until it is ignited.</p> |
