PURPOSE: A method for providing a target position confirmation service of a mobile communication network is provided to display position information of desired various targets as a map type to be accurately and easily confirmed centering around a current position of a subscriber and offer various supplemental services through a mobile telephone of the subscriber. CONSTITUTION: In case that a subscriber selects a 'position confirmation', the subscriber inputs a desired target according to a guidance message according to the position confirmation selection. If the subscriber selects a 'car' among a guidance message for inquiring a moving method such as a 'walking', a 'car', and a 'public traffic', a mobile telephone(101) transmits corresponding information selected or inputted by the subscriber by wireless. A WAP(Wireless Air Protocol) server(15) retrieves current position information of the mobile telephone(101) through an interface with a home location register(14), reads a map image on which retrieved current position information is displayed, and provides the read map image to the mobile telephone(101). The WAP server(15) provides a car moving path between position information to the target and current position information of the subscriber of the mobile telephone(101). If the subscriber wants detailed information of the target, user selection items such as Internet home page connection or telephone connection of the target are displayed. |
