The operating pin (5) is positioned parallel with the selector shaft (1) by means of a radial arm (3), and has axial parts (6,7,8) with different cross-sections. The gear shifting gate (10) is in the form of a flat plate on a radial plane in relation to the selector shaft. The gear shifting gate has a curved slot (12) which has parts (13-15) of different widths in a peripheral direction. The operating pin has axial parts with diameters different from a cylindrical operating pin with a middle part with thinner cross-section than the neutral or pre-selector plane.
