Carbon-ceramic brake disk comprises a friction layer containing an indicator surface in the surface facing the brake lining. The indicator surface has a tribological film which formed on the friction surface of the brake disk. An independent claim is also included for a process for the production of a carbon-ceramic brake disk. Preferred Features: The indicator surface is a maximum 15 % of the friction surface of the brake disk and has a circular sector with an opening angle of at least 5[deg]. The matrix of the material of the friction layer and the indicator region contain silicon carbide and silicon.
