A device for catching champagne corks has a number of flexible fingers (20, 22) linked to a central section which is placed over the unopened cork with the user gripping the fingers around the neck of the bottle. This allows safe removal of the cork including the wire seal. The central section of the device is then clipped onto the opened bottle providing a temporary seal to prevent the champagne going flat.
