In the production of textile reinforcement (A) by cutting and forming components from a textile sheet (B) consisting of at least two groups of threads crossing at a predetermined angle, at least one of the groups being of expensive material (I), at least one group is formed in sections from (I) and in the intermediate sections from a less expensive material (II), ensuring secure bonding and positioning of the (I) sections. Production of textile reinforcement (A) for industrial products involves cutting and forming components from a textile sheet (B), consisting of at least two groups of threads crossing at a predetermined angle, at least one of the groups being of expensive material (I). The novel feature is that at least one group is formed in sections from (I) and in the intermediate sections from a less expensive material (II), ensuring secure bonding and positioning of the (I) sections in (B). The (I) sections are positioned in each fiber group to cover the parts of (B) from which (A) is cut. An independent claim is included for apparatus for carrying out the process, comprising (B) production apparatus incorporating a separating and bonding device (12) having transporters for exact positioning of the thread groups of (I) (13) and of (II) (15), for separating the last thread group supplied to the (B) formation process and for bonding the ends of this thread group with the starts of the other thread groups.
