<p>Quick-action clamping cylinder (1) comprises a guide device for controlled insertion of a feed nipple (2) fixed on the under side of a workpiece pallet into the central receiving opening (4) in a housing (11) of the cylinder. The end of the feed nipple has conical bevels (17) angled toward the rear in the insertion direction which interact with a corresponding conical recess (18), angled in the opposite direction, in the housing of the cylinder.
