The invention relates to a lithium polymer battery, consisting of a cathode, separator and anode and current collectors, and to a method for the production thereof. The lithium polymer battery is characterized in that the anode and/or cathode is respectively arranged between the separator and a current collector in the form of a pasty material and consists of a mixture containing lithium intercalatable material, lithium conducting salt and aprotic solvent.
