In an outer cabinet (1) of a washing machine containing a washing unit and comprising an upper part (3), which consists of a worktop (31) and a monocoque structure (32), a lower part (4) and a middle part (5) joined to the other parts (3, 4), the monocoque structure (32), which is at least prevailingly made of a plastic material, is integrally made with an element (37) in the form of an X whose arms (38, 39, 40, 41) extend up to a pair of opposed walls (35, 36) of the monocoque structure (32). To the element (37) in the form of an X there are attached the upper ends of the springs for the suspension of the washing unit. Use: Domestic machines for washing and/or drying clothes having either a front or a top loading door. Advantages: Ingenious and ergonomic construction of the cabinet upper part. |
