Edge flanges (30) on the tube base (3) and on the end closure covers (33), are formed in opposite directions. In the bending zone (35) of the closure cover, little or no edge flange is present. The edge flange (30) on the tube base (3) is turned inwardly toward the header box (4). Connecting edges (40) of the header box rest internally against the edge flange (30). At the edge surface of the tube base, spaced inward formations (32) rest against the connecting edge of the header box, where they are soldered (or brazed) in place.
