<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inventory management system and a method capable of increasing an inventory turnover even when demand largely varies. SOLUTION: A PQ analysis is performed on the whole products, and an ABC analysis is also performed. The product corresponding to items A and B is selected in an ABC analysis result, and an index of seasonal variation of the respective products corresponding to these A and B is calculated. The product having the index of seasonal variation exceeding a prescribed value (for example, 2) is extracted, and the PQ analysis is made on the extracted product in accordance with a delivery destination. The delivery destination having a large actual quantity is successively excluded on the basis of the PQ analysis result, the index of seasonal variation is recalculated. Processing for recalculating the index of seasonal variation by successively excluding this delivery destination having the large actual quantity, is repeated until a calculation result becomes the prescribed value or less. When a recalculation result of the index seasonal variation becomes 2 or less, inventory is controlled on the product excluded at recalculation time and the delivery destination by planned inventory (storing inventory), and a product and a delivery destination other than that are controlled by additional replenishing inventory.</p> |
