The invention relates to a device for providing heat radiation of a surface, preferably for softening and removing old paint and drying of moisture, wherein the heat radiation is intended to be obtained by means of electric resistance wires (13) arranged in box which opens towards the surface which is intended for treatment. The device is characterized in that the box consists of a main component (1) which is formed by extrusion pressing and which comprises a longitudinally extending track (10) for mounting of other components (11, 14) forming part of the device, and a lid (2, 4) in each end portion and a longitudinall y extending partition wall (11) behind the electric resistance wires (13). One of the lids (4) is provided with an exhaust opening (5) which communicates with the space behind the partition wall (11) and the other lid is formed with a suction opening located at the open end porti on of the box which communicates with the space behind the partition wall (11).
