A profiled beam for holding the balustrade panel (6) is secured to the floor (1) via a second fastener strip (88) on the bottom side of this beam. This strip forms an extension of one of the upper vertical arms (83) of the clamping part (81) of the beam. Bolts (91) passed through holes in the strip are used to secure the latter to the floor. The system comprises a first fastener strip (94) and an extruded profiled beam which has a clamping part with a U-shaped cross-section for receiving the balustrade panel (6) from above. A protrusion (98) projecting from one of the upper vertical arms of the clamping part can be placed over a first fastener strip (94) secured to the vertical side of the floor, so that the beam is suspended from this strip.
