The invention concerns high structured (thickening) precipitation silica granules with having a mean diameter of at least 150 m, preferably at least 250 mu m, and a cohesion factor of at least 0.3, preferably 0.45 to 0.75, obtained by wet process granulation of high structured (thickening) precipitation silica with drying and optionally sieving, the granulation step being carried out using: a rotor apparatus comprising shearing means capable of developing a peripheral speed at the rotor end ranging between 0.5 m.s and 0.8 m. s; at least a high structured (thickening) precipitation silica powder with having an oil absorption DOP of at least 230 ml/100g; a mean diameter D50 of at least 14 mu m, more particularly 14 to 30 mu m, and water (W) as binder, the weight ratio Rm of the total amount of water (WT) over the amount of silica expressed in dry weight being more than 1.4 and less than 3. The invention also concerns the use of said granules as thickening agents with oral sensory effect in dental compositions. |
